Newborn price
There is nothing more beautiful than your baby fast asleep and curled up in the way they were naturally in the womb. We aim to capture this magical moment, ideally within two weeks of birth, with our newborn portraits. We offer newborn photography in our West London home studio. In order to ensure availability we ask that you contact us a couple of days after your baby is born to reserve one of the limited number of newborn portrait session. When you book your session we will ask for a deposit, when this is received we will send you information and tips about how to prepare for the session, including styling and clothing recommendations.
At the moment we offer newborn portraits in our studio or, if you prefer, in the relaxed surroundings of your home. The benefit of working in our studio allows us to photograph in a controlled environment, with perfect lighting and room temperature to ensure the success of a newborn session. Our Studio Portrait Session focuses on posed newborn portraits, although we’re always happy to capture a few family portraits.

What do prepare for a baby photoshoot?
I always send the following checklist to my clients. The checklist is focused on families who would like to have session in they home for my usual three-hour newborn photoshoot.
- Prepare snack and water for yourself and any siblings. The photoshoot will be long and you are in the warm room.
- If siblings are joining, prepare some entertainment for them. Don’t forget some bribing material for cuddly sibling shots.
- Prepare a couple of wrapping blankets for the baby, to keep them warm during feeds.
- Prepare everything for changing and feeding the baby, including any creams you use or special eco materials.
- If the newborn has long hair, prepare a brush.
- Any toys or props you would like to add into the photos.
- This one can be a bit controversial, but I always suggest preparomg a dummy (pacifier). I know many parents are moving away from using these, but if chaos breaks loose and the little one doesn’t want to cooperate, the dummy can help us get through the session.
- Try to keep your baby awake before the session. Good practice is to arrive to your home, feed and get going with the session.
- Prepare a place where I can set all props and lights. And a place where you would like to have your family photo taken.
- Make sure the prepared space is warm and cozy.
How Long will the session take?
Newborn photo session usually takes 3 hours . This includes feeding, cuddles, changing of the baby and soothing back to sleep. I only book one session a day so there is no rush or stress to feed and to settle the little one when needed. However please do not plan anything else for that day as if the baby is very unsettled we may need some extra time in order to achieve a full gallery.
Can we invide other people to us?
Doing the session is hot for baby’s comfort and the session is long and boring. I also need to focus on baby’s safety and your beautiful gallery. For these reasons only the people Whose pictures will be taken on the day are allowed in the room.
Due to covid restrictions , only allow 2 adults per baby to stay during the session ( which would be either baby’s parents or one of the parents and second adult from the some household).
It is also strongly advised that the siblings come for the time of their images only and leave with a partner or grandparent.
Can a younger sibling join the pictures?
Of course they can! However if you have a newborn baby and are considering a newborn shoot with the sibling the best age for siblings is from 3 years up as before then they hardly understand what you are trying to achieve from them and do not always perform.
We will of course offer treats and other bribes and do our best but as this is a newborn session we unfortunately will not be able to concentrate on a toddler instead of a newborn as we need to insure that the newborn is safe and comfortable and that the session is kept at a normal workflow.
Please do not expect your youngers little one to perform, they just had a new little human join the family and might find it alone hard enough to adjust to.
Please also kindly note that I usually work during the weekdays ( school hours) with all session happening in the first part of the day so I may not be able to work around older siblings nursery/nap/school times.
Newborn images are once in the lifetime and for years to cherish. I therefore ask for your flexibility with work and school times when booking newborn session.
Can we include other images?
Please note that you will need to choose a different package as an extra if you want to combine a Family, Siblings, Cake smash, Baby bath, Maternity, Headshot or any other images that are Newborn related.
